What is a name server record ?
Name servers translate your domain name to an ip address. eg. passioncomputing.com.au has a primary name server record ns3.webcontrolcenter.com and ip address 216.119.106.4 and secondary name server record ns4.webcontrolcenter.com and ip address of 216.119.102.5. Most hosting accounts include two name server records and you will be given your name server records after you sign up for a hosting account. You will recognize the name server records because it will start with NS or word followed by a number and dot then a domain name. The format will look like ns3.webcontrolcenter.com or brigh.twoplums.com.au and the name server record will always correspond to an ip address
If you want to use your .hk domain name, then you should set up your hosting account first, and then enter the correct name server records when you register your hong kong domain name because there is a fee to change your name server record at the registry.
