Add On Domain Aliases
All web hosting plans, except the Standard PRO web hosting plans, come with the ability to add more domain aliases. This means that additional domains will resolve to your website and you will receive mail from these domains but all your 'add on' domains must be registered or transferred to us for this to work.
As an alternative to Add On Domain Aliases, you can use free domain name forwarding to redirect your domain name to any page on your website. Free domain name forwarding is available for all domain name registrations and transfers and will work on any web hosting account.
How do I set up additional domains and link them with my hosting account?
(1) You firstly need to register or transfer your additional domains and then login to the management of these domains.
(2) Then, You can then go to the hosting control panel of your web or email hosting account attached to your main domain name by logging in to http://domains.passioncomputing.com.au , click 'edit' next to the main domain name, then click on 'hosting control panel', then click 'home' and then "domain aliases", add the name of the additional domain name and make sure the 'web' and 'email' hosting boxes are ticked.
(3) Navigate back to the 'manage domains' page, click on 'edit' next to your main domain, then click 'zone files. Write down the zone files of your main domain, as you will need to copy these exact zone files to your additional domain.
(4) The next step is to order advanced dns management for your additional domain name (you go to 'manage domains' then click 'add services' link next to your additional domain and match the zone file of the additional domain name to the main domain that has the web or email hosting account. There should be 4 A records and 2 MX records.
Please read the advanced dns management page carefully, as the common mistake people make is not clicking on the 'payment' link and completing the order. Although this service is free, it is a legacy of when it was not free, that you need to continue by clicking on the 'payment' link, and the system will then tell you that no payment is required.
(5) You also need to make sure that the name servers for the additional domain is the same as the main domain name.
That's it!
The zone file records should be the same as your primary domain. eg. if the zone file for the primary domain is

You simply need to create zone files for your add on domain aliases that are exactly the same as your primary domain.
Also, remember to change your name server records, if you have transferred in a domain name.
Basically, after adding your additional domain to your hosting account in the hosting control panel, you must mirror the zone file and name server records for the additional domain, so that it is exactly the same as the zone file and name server records of the primary domain related to the hosting account.
