Website Design Proposals - Website Design Contract Agreement

Website Design Proposals

Website design proposals are legal documents. All web design projects should have a proposal and contract or information should be clearly provided on a company website.

A proposal sets out legal responsibilities, summary of organization and outcomes to be achieved, timeframes, process of website development, objectives and any constraints of project, items that are included in the quotation and additional services and products that may be added, items that are not included in the project, terms and conditions, ongoing website maintenance, issues of ownership, payment terms, and the qualifications of the person that will actually do the work.

Website design proposals need to identify if the website developer will be responsible for

  • XHTML compliancy www.w3.org
  • Insertion of proper title tags, keywords and page descriptions on all web pages
  • Delivering the website within set time frame .
  • Uploading website and testing the website on client’s server
  • Ongoing hosting and management
  • Ensuring all webforms, e-commerce forms, are working properly and design and implementation of auto responding emails, re-direction pages.
  • Linking website to e-commerce gateways and testing of website functionality, purchasing domain names, SSL certificates or shared SSL certificates on behalf of the client.
  • Purchasing, leasing or development of software for forums, chats, web content management, website statistics, web mail, mailing lists and the respective licencing of software used in website.
  • Ensuring the compatibility of server languages, disk space, monthly data allowances fit the needs of the client’s website.

All website design companies offer different services and have different standards, so a proposal is necessary to ensure that all deliverables are achieved and as a written understanding between the client and the developer.

All new customers will receive a full proposal. The downside of a website design proposal is that the onus is on the customer to understand what is written in the proposal, which can be wordy and open for misunderstanding. Legal action is costly, so ultimately trust is more important that a written proposal. Not only do we provide you with a website design proposal but use the prototyping model to enable you to see the website during development. Clients won't be given power point demonstration or pdf files and asked to imagine what it will look or feel like; clients will know exactly what they are getting and free to terminate the project at any time, without penalty if their expectations are not being met.

Risk Free Website Development

Because we do not require a deposit for projects undertaken, any misunderstandings are risks that we take, so we make sure that customers have a thorough understanding of the project.
