Setting up DNS Hosting Read whole page!! Do not skip any steps.

If you do not see the 'zone file' link (between the 'contacts' and 'renew' links, you need to add the free service to your domain name. Editing zone files is only set up if you have a hosting service and you want to have the ability to edit your zone files for your domain name, you need to order 'advanced dns management'. To do this, follow the steps below.

1. Login to your account and activate advanced DNS management, by clicking on "Add services".

You will see the following screens.

You must see a message that the order has been submitted or else you have not completed the order. If you have transferred your domain in, your zone file edits will not work until you change your name server records to those below.

You will receive an email letting you know that dns hosting is ready to use. This usually happens within an hour, but allow up to 24 hours.

You will then be able to login and edit your zone files. See Editing Zone Files. The last step you may have to do is change your name server records.

Change your Name Server Records

Check or change your name server records to the records below. Note: if you have transferred a domain name in, you will need to change your Name Server records, before changes you have made to your zone files will work.. By default, all new domain name registrations have the name server records below. Accept with blind faith, that we are correct that your zone files will not work until you set the authoritative name servers to point to the name servers below. Most people struggle with this, because it doesn't make sense but what changing your NS records does, is tell the central registry and all the other name servers in the world, to look to the zone file edits that you just made and use these zone file records to redirect  your domain name.

WARNING: If you have a website or email associated with your domain name, these services will be affected by changing the name server records. Do Not change these records unless you know what you are doing !!

Wait. Do not visit your domain name for at least an hour after your name server records have been redelegated. If you are anxious about whether or not you have correctly set up domain name forwarding, log in and check the name server records fields are set correctly and go to 'zone files' are correctly entered. The domain should all be working correctly in 24-48 hours.
